Conflict Minerals
Overview of Conflict MineralsMinerals produced in conflict-affected regions such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its neighboring countries — specifically the four major minerals known as 3TG (Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten, and Gold) — are referred to as conflict minerals. Revenue generated from these minerals has been funneled to armed groups within these regions, resulting in civilian massacres, as well as severe human rights violations including child labor, forced labor, and abuse of women during the mining process. With increasing global concern, the U.S. Congress enacted the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act in 2010, which mandates reporting on the use of conflict minerals. Under Section 1502 of this Act, companies listed on the U.S. stock market must investigate whether they use conflict minerals, determine their country of origin, conduct due diligence on their supply chain, and report the results to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Conflict Minerals Management PolicyTo comply with conflict mineral regulations, AP SEMI collaborates with all its partners to implement and adhere to conflict minerals policies. Upon customer request, compliance is managed and monitored through CMRT, EMRT, and a Conflict Minerals Non-Use Policy. Conflict Minerals Policy
